Admin • Jul 27, 2021

HVAC systems are an essential part of your home, don’t take them for granted. With the proper upkeep you'll have the ease of mind that your home appliances will work when you need it the most. We understand that doing it yourself is not always preferred therefore offer a maintenance package that best fits your budget. Regularly scheduled visits will help keep your Air Conditioning Unit working efficiently while extending the lifespan of the appliance.

Although we’re happy to help with your HVAC maintenance needs we never discourage customers from doing it themselves. Here are a few great maintenance tips you can use at home.

Essential Maintenance Tips:

1. Vacuum grass clippings, leaves and other debris from the exterior fins with a soft brush attachment. Remove bushes, weeds and grass within 2 ft. of the ac condensers.

2. Using a garden hose with moderate water pressure you can clean the fins. Strong pressure can damage the fins. DO NOT USE A PRESSURE WASHER!

3. Check your air filter every month and replace it if it’s dirty.

4. Keep your vents clean by using a pipe cleaner. The louvres that cover the opening to the air conditioner vents in your rooms often collect dust. However if your pipe cleaner also picks up black fuzz, it could be a sign of mold. Have a professional inspect the vents. Schedule for a visit with NextGen Heating and Air

5. Furnaces with electric blowers often have fan belts. Inspecting your fan belt annually is recommended. Make sure to turn off power to the unit, remove the front cover and check that the belt is snug and free of cracks.
